The Brahmins Devotees of Tillai (Tillai Vazh Andanar)

The History of TillaivazhanthanarThe Brahmins Devotees of Tillai
Salutations to the Raised Foot and the Stationed Foot of the Lord who dances blissfully in the hall of Tillai Chitrambalam! The priests of Tillai (Chidambaram), are the devotees who serve the Cosmic Dancer daily. They perform the penance of serving Lord Shiva with utmost love. They fulfill all sacred tasks in the temple, performing austere worship, praising God with the holy Vedas, and anything else required in the temple at Tillai. Having studied the four Vedas and six Vedangas, leading a disciplined life, yearning only for sacred ash as their wealth and looking forward to the  service to the Lord. They are truly blessed, for they worship the Dancing Lord, who dances beyond the realm of words. The Lord Himself made the suggestion to Sundarar to begin his Tirutonda Tokai with “Tillai Vazh Andanar”. What a coveted service they perform for the Lord! Let the worship of Tillai Vazh Andanar for the Lord of Tillai stay in the mind.
