How to view the Tamil pages in Tamil ?

There are two types of pages in Tamil in this site. One in transliterated format. These are in Romanized letters. You do not need any additional fonts to read them. They would be in English alphabets but wordings in Tamil. The other category is TSCII based pages. These would need you to have a font installed in your system to view them properly. To do this.

  • Get any of the TSCII based font of your choice. (Mylai TSCII could be downloaded from here - courtesy Dr.Kalyan.) Install the font by either double clicking the downloaded font or using the Control Panel->fonts.
  • Go to the Internet Explorer. Choose the Tools->Internet Options menu. In the pop-up window that appears, choose fonts button. There would be a drop down combo box named Language Script. In that choose User Defined . In the both Web Page font and Plain text font listings below, choose the TSCII fonts you just installed. Click OK.
  • The page should automatically now display in Tamil. If not try refreshing the page.
