திருச்சிற்றம்பலம்

வடிவுடை மழுவேந்தி மதகரி உரி போர்த்துப்
பொடியணி திருமேனிப் புரிகுழல் உமையோடும்
கொடியணி நெடுமாடக் கூடலையாற்றூரில்
அடிகள் இவ் வழிபோந்த அதிசயம் அறியேனே.

vaDivuDai mazu En^dhi madhakari uripOrththup
poDi aNi thirumEnip purikuzal umaiyODum

aDikaL ivvazi pOn^dha adhicayam aRiyEnE

Meaning:
Holding up exquisite axe, in the robe of frenzy elephant,
the Form adorned with ash, accompanied by plaited hair uma,
in the thirukkUDalaiyARRUr of multi storied mansions decorated with flags, 
the wonder that the Reverend went this way, I am unable to understand.

Notes:
1. This was sung by cundharar who was excited by the Lord appearing
as a stranger led him to kUDalaiyARRUr, who was originally planning to 
go to thirumuthukunRam, and disappeared on arrival at kUDalaiyARRUr 
abode !
2. vaDivu - well-formed; mazu - axe; kari - elephant;
kuzal - hair; aDikaL - respectable one.
