Translation of song:

Foot - chanted meditating upon by the one sleeping in snake (viShNu)l
Foot - that is embellishment for the head of valuable vedin (brahma);
Foot - worshipped with folded hands by sharavaNan;
Foot - that is refuge for all those who rely on;
Foot - that ruins the sins of those who hail;
Foot - sung by all the eighteen gaNas;
Foot of the Lord of tidal south keDilam country;
Foot of our Wealth at thiruvIraTTAnam!

Notes:
1. appar typically uses the short and crisp thirukkuRunthokai
to provide us guidance. They are silver bullets.
However when he rejoices singing the glory of the Lord shiva
his long and wide thiruththANDakams are the preferred.
Simple in language and structure, with a mild meditative
music they are excellent tools for meditating on the Lord.
