திருச்சிற்றம்பலம்

வந்தார்; எதிர்சென்று நின்றேற்கு ஒளிரும் வண் தார் தழைகள்
தந்தார்; அவையொன்றும் மாற்றகில்லேன்; தக்கன் வேள்விசெற்ற
செந்தாமரைவண்ணன் தீர்த்தச் சடையன் சிராமலைவாய்க்
கொந்தார் பொழிலணி நந்தாவனத்துக் குளிர்புனத்தே.

Explanation of thiruvaroor mummanikkovai:


(He) Came; To me, who went and stood in front, gave glittering
lovely bunches of flowers and leaves; I could not refuse anything;
(This was) In the cool-fields surrounded by ever-lasting blooming
gardens at thiruchirAppaLLi of the Red-lotus-like One Who 
conquered the rite of dakshan, the One with holy water on the
matter hair !

1. vaN - pretty; thAr - bouquet; kon^dhu - flower cluster; 
nan^dhAvanam - garden that does not fade off.
