Meaning of song:

"Oh the Lord of perfect feet that kicked the dark form of kAla of white teeth
showing the anger like the huge poisonous hood, who came fiercely on the
life of the small vedin boy who took refuge (in You)!
Oh the Lord of decorated thirumarugal Who in the red hair grows
the child of evening moon, bless that this terrible impact of this poison
goes away and I get out of this pit of misery!" saying so...

Notes:
1. A merchant who was promised by his brother-in-law
to give one of his daughters for him to marry, was
continuously cheated by the father. The youngest of the
daughters unable to bear him being cheated every time
came out of the house with him to get married.
The honest youth who were upholding their dignity
before marriage, were sleeping in a hall at marugal.
In the darkness a snake bit the merchant and he died.
The young girl who lost the person whom she thought is
the hold for her life, pleaded to the Lord of thirumarugal so.
