Idhaya Pasuram

Explanation of song:

Today, doing grace to me, thrashing out darkness,
like the Sun raising in the mind, the way You
stood - I thought without (interruption and
re)thinking. Other than You there is nothing else.
With the passing, as an atomic Thing, diminishing
and diminishing to become One - that shivA of
thirupperunthuRai! Nothing is You, there is
nothing without (You). Who can realize You?

Notes:
1. This song is called the "idhaya pAcuram" in
thiruvAcakam.
2. The soul has felt the presence of God and
has started rejoicing the Grace that thwarts
darkness. This is not a joy that is short-living.
Without any cessation the soul rejoices the grace
leaving out any need for re-initiating it.
All the noise fades away and only the Bliss
giving Supreme stays. Now "with no stop in this
experience" the soul sees the world seen by
all others. There is nothing in the world that
could be the transcendent Supreme and there is
nothing in the world in which God is not immanent.
c.f. maraththai maRaiththathu mAmatha yAnai
     maraththin maRain^thathu mAmatha yAnai
     paraththai maRaiththathu pArmuthal bUdham
     paraththin maRain^thathu pArmuthal bUdhamE.
        - thiruman^dhiram.
3. kaDidhal - acting ferociously on;
nyAyiRu - sun.
