திருச்சிற்றம்பலம்

சாந்தம் வெண்ணீறு எனப்பூசி வெள்ளஞ்சடை வைத்தவர்
காந்தள் ஆரும்விரல் ஏழையோடு ஆடிய காரணம்
ஆய்ந்து கொண்டு ஆங்கு அறிய நிறைந்தார் அவர் ஆர் கொலோ
வேந்தன் மூக்கீச்சரத்து அடிகள் செய்கின்றதோர் மெய்ம்மையே.

Meaning:
Smearing in white ash as the sandal, the One Who kept 
the flood in the matted hair, stood abound, letting (us)
explore the reason He danced with the slender lady with
kAnthaL like fingers. Who is He ? It is the exposition
by the King - the Reverend of thirumUkkIccaram.

Notes:
1. That Formless Nameless Supreme took so many forms.
We explore and wonder them. He is playful ... He is Merciful !
2. cAn^tham - sandal / fragrant paste for body; 
veLLam - flood / gangai; kAn^thaL - a flower; 
Ezai - slim (lady) (EzaipaN^gALan refers to ardhanArIshvarar).
