சொன்மாலை பயில்கின்ற குயிலினங்காள் சொல்லீரே
பன்மாலை வரிவண்டு பண் மிழற்றும் பழனத்தான்
முன் மாலை நகு திங்கள் முகிழ் விளங்கு முடிச் சென்னிப்
பொன் மாலை மார்பன் என் புது நலம் உண்டு இகழ்வானோ.

Meaning:
Oh the flocks of cuckoos practicing chain of words, tell!
Will the Lord of pazanam, where the striped beetles at
various garlands play melody, Who has the moon that 
smiles in the early evening gloriously in the head,
the One with gold garland chest, after consuming
my freshness contemn me?!

Notes:
1. This is sung in the agathuRai. The girl who after 
knowing the glory of the Lord is lamenting unable
to bear with not meeting the Lord.
