திருச்சிற்றம்பலம்

ஒருமை பெண்மை உடையன் சடையன் விடையூரும் இவனென்ன
அருமையாக உரை செய்ய அமர்ந்தெனது உள்ளம் கவர் கள்வன்
கருமை பெற்ற கடல் கொள்ள மிதந்ததோர் காலம் இதுவென்னப்
பெருமை பெற்ற பிரமாபுரம் மேவிய பெம்மான் இவனன்றே.

Meaning of the Prayer Song:

 "He has feminine aspect in one part;
Has matt-locks; This One Who rides the bull"
to be hailed with such nice words,
He Who sat, the Thief capturing my mind
is this Lord of Thirubiramapuram
that has the glory of indicating the time by staying afloat
when the dark ocean comes as deluge!

 Notes: 

1.  கடல் கொள்ள மிதந்ததோர் காலம் இதுவென்ன 
Thirupiramapuram (Sirkazi) has 12 names. 
They are - Brammapuram, Venupuram, pukali, 
Venguru, Thonipuram, Puntharay, Sirapuram, Puravam,
Sanpai, Sirkazi, Kochchaivayam, Kazumalam.
Each of these names indicate a particular history.
They also could indicate the time period between the
pralayas - like sveta varaha kalpa etc.
