Prayer from Rig Veda

मा नः॑ सोमपरि॒बाधो॒ मारा॑तयो जुहुरन्त ।
आ न॑ इन्दो॒ वाजे॑ भज ॥

mA naH somaparibAdho mArAtayo juhuranta |
A na indo vAje bhaja ||

Meaning of the Prayer Mantra:

 

May the troublemakers to worship and the mean ones not harass us!
Oh Gracioud Lord bestow us with vigor!

 Notes: 

1. mA naH somaparibAdho mArAtayo juhuranta 
Those associations which are not conducive for the worship
- the troublemakers and those who are ungenerous / mean
- can derail the spiritual journey. Hence the prayer is made to God
to protect from such forces.

declares his courage and conviction and immediately expresses
the fear of these derailing associations.
