Meaning of the Prayer Song:

 Oh Lord! Having seen the accumulation of the duties and knowledge as arduous,
incompetent to stop the heart uninterruptedly moving in sin,
fallen into the ruined well of birth and death,
(still,) oh the Remover of puras, I am fearless because I have
got into Your hand-held support!

 Notes:

1. prachayam - accumulation; duShkara - arduous; asakta - uninterruptedly;
apArayat - incompetent; andhakUpa - ruined well; viShIda - fall in to;
hastAlamba - hand support; prapatanam - falling into.

2.  hastAlamba ... nirbhayOsmi
Present condition can be pretty bad.
However, now that Your helping hand is with me,
I can come out of all the mess and hence I am fearless!

3. c.f. Why fear? - Appar Thevaram
