Now this temple is in Tamil Nadu. It is about 12 kilometres from Kanyakumari towards north-west. This was one of the Maha temples in old Kerala. Here, it is believed that Brahma-Vishnu-Maheshwara reside in the Svayamboo Siva Linga. There are scores of writings etched in stone here. The temple has a seven storeyed Gopura, Silpas & ancient sculptures with historic significance.

In the Gopura, one Jwarahavamoorthyis there. It is believed that if we pray to this God, all illness will go away. Main festivals are held in Kanni, Dhanu & Medam months.
