Assam Lord Shiva temples

Assam, which was called Kamarupa in the ancient time rahmaputra flowing through it. On its banks there are very many ancient temples of Lord Shiva. Guwahati which was called Pragjyotishapuram and Tezpur which was called Sonitapuram and Sibsagar have dense population of Shaivite temples. The great devotee of Lord Shiva - Banasura, ruled from Sonitapura. Assam is a great pilgrimage site to visit.
