Sthala Puranam
The chOza emperor rAjarAjan (1) was the most famous emperor of the thamiz land. He was a great devotee of the Lord shiva. So was his sister kun^dhavai who nurtured the devotion for the Great Lord in his heart. That chOza princess who had lots of love for her brother rAjarAjan found a town in his name as rAjarAjapuram. That blessed lady constrcuted the temple of Lord mANikkeshvarar in great glory at this place. She also constrcuted a temple for Lord viShNu and a jain temple too. The name of the village now is dhAdhApuram .
