Meaning:
Those with blind-folded mind, go away!
True devotees, come fast!
Taking and Giving (brides and grooms)
generation after generation be devoted to Lord Ishvara!
Getting into the company (of devotees),
tell, "Many years", saying,
"The Thing beyond Universe!
The unlimited flood of Bliss!
The Thing That is there in the beginning, now and forever!"
Notes:
1. More than an individual being devoted to God,
the entire family being devoted to Lord shiva is
something very great. This uplifts a whole clan
to Bliss. Life of very many nAyanmArs, including
amarnIthi nAyanar, appUthu nAyanAr, ciRuththoNdar
and many more are glorious examples of this.
When the husband and wife with a converged mind
of love and service worship the Lord and Its devotees
that is the purpose and fruit of the house-hold life.
That is the reason here and in many other places in
thirumuRai the glory of such tradition of devotees
generation after generation in service of God is spoken.
(What if the spouse of one already married is not
having good devotion? The life of mangaiyarkkaraciyar
shows the way. It is the duty of the spouse to enlighten
the mind of the other also.)
Details of the life of nAyanmar could be found at Nayanmar History
