இன்றுந் திருவுருவங் காண்கிலேன் - என்றுந்தான் 
எவ்வுருவோன் உம்பிரான் என்பார்கட் கென்னுரைக்கேன் 
எவ்வுருவோ நின்னுருவம் ஏது.

Meaning of Arputha Thiruvanthathi

 
    That time I became Your slave, without  
seeing Your Form. Even now I do not see Your 
Form ! What can I say to the people who ask, 
"What if the form of your Lord ?" Which is  
Your (real) form ?

1. Does the God on Its own would look half male  
half female like ardhanArIshvara or would appear in 
yoga form like dakshiNAmUrthi or would be dancing as 
naTarAja or.... ? Which is the real form of God ? 
The answer is as appar beautifully describes, 
"avanaruLE kaNNAgak kANin allAl ippaDiyan 
in^n^iRaththan ivaNNaththan, ivaiRaivan enRu 
ezudhikkATToNAdhE" (Unless seen with His Grace 
itself as eyes, it cannot be written down as to 
whether It is this way, this colored, this featured  
etc.)
