"ஐயர்! நீர் யாழ் இதனை முரிக்குமதென்? ஆளுடையாளுடனே கூடச்
செய்ய சடையார் அளித்த திருவருளின் பெருமையெலாம் தெரிய நம்பால்
எய்திய இக்கருவியினில் அளவு படுமோ? நந்தம் இயல்புக்கு ஏற்ப
வையகத்தோர் அறிவுற இக்கருவி அளவையின் இயற்றல் வழக்கே" என்றார்.

"aiyar! n^Ir yAz ithanai murikkumathen? aLuDaiyALuDanE kUDac

eythiya ik karuviyinil aLavu paDumO? n^an^tham iyalbukku ERpa
vaiyakaththOr aRivuRa ikkaruvi aLavaiyin iyaRRal vazakkE" enRAr.

Explanation of stanza:
"Oh lord! Why are you breaking this yAz? Will all the glory of
the holy grace that was given by the Red-entwined hair Lord
along with the Lady Who governs, be limited into this instrument
that came to us in our knowledge? It is appropriate to play
within the bounds of this instrument according to our capacity
reaching to the knowledge of the people.
Notes:
1. When cambandhar sang "mAdhar maDappiDiyum", yAzppANar
could not play that in the yAz he had. He was about to break it
saying it is useless if it cannot play the praise of God
done by cambandhar. cambandhar stopped him and said this.
2. This is not only true for the yAz instrument yAzppANa nAyanAr had.
We are all having instruments including the body itself, though
varying in degree, with very much limited capability. Instead of
getting bogged down by the limitations we should use the instruments
to the best within their bounds to serve God. That itself will pave way
for the ultimate gift - Liberation. These imperfect instruments
when used properly will lead to the Perfection - the Bliss.
