மடையில் வாளை பாய மாதரார்
குடையும் பொய்கைக் கோலக்கா உளான்
சடையும் பிறையுஞ் சாம்பற் பூச்சுங் கீள்
உடையுங் கொண்ட உருவம் என்கொலோ

Meaning:
In the canals the vALai fishes leaping forward,
and the ladies dipping in the ponds, the Resident
of such thirukkOlakkA, why took the form with
matted hair, crescent, smearing ash, and torn
clothing !

Notes:
1. The second thiruppadhikam of thirunyAna cambandhap
perumAn. As the three year old child was singing the
Lord with its tender hands putting the beats, the
Gracious Father gave the young great one the cymbals
(thALam instrument), so that its hands doesn't hurt !
The sound of the cymbals woke up the thamiz land to 
see the light of shaivam.
2. As if he is wondering the wonderful form of God
decorated natural and simple, sings this verse.
3. maDai - water channel; kuDaidhal - bathing moving
water with hands (in ponds/rivers); poygai - pond;
kILuDai - loin cloth (tiger skin)
