பொடியுடை மார்பினர் போர்விடை ஏறிப்
    பூதகணம் புடைசூழக்
கொடியுடை ஊர் திரிந்து ஐயம்
    கொண்டு பலபலகூறி
வடிவுடை வாள் நெடுங்கண் உமை பாகம்
    ஆயவன் வாழ்கொளி புத்தூர்க்
கடிகமழ் மாமலரிட்டுக்
    கறை மிடற்றான் அடி காண்போம்.

Meaning of song:


One with ash having chest, mounting on the war-bull,
surrounded by the bUtha gaNas, wandering in the town
having flags, accepting alms, blabbering many things,
One Who became in one part uma of well-formed
sword like eyes, offering highly fragrant great flowers,
(we) would see the Foot of the Stain-throated Lord of 
thiruvAzkoLippuththUr.
