அந்தணனைத் தஞ்சம் என்று ஆட்பட்டார் ஆழாமே
வந்தணைந்து காத்தளிக்கும் வல்லாளன் - கொந்தணைந்த
பொன்கண்டால் பூணாதே கோள் அரவம் பூண்டானே
என் கண்டாய் நெஞ்சே இனி

Meaning:
The Cool-hearted Capable Lord, Who prevents those,
who take refuge in Him, from getting drowned (in gloom)
and safeguards them, He chose to wear dangerous snake
when fault-free gold is available to wear ! Oh my mind,
what else to look for now ?!

Notes:
1. Lord shiva provides all great things to those who 
surrender to Him. However He does not look for anything
great for Himself. The pioneer saint of devotion rich poetry
subtly indicates that there is nothing greater that is
external for the God to aspire for.
