Meaning:
With stabilized internal love, winning over the six foes,
subduing the five senses and taken shelter in wisdom -
residing in the heart lotus of such people - that Ancient
One's abode is thiruvIzimizalai, where on the gem carpet
of befitting water-bed, the varieties of conches decorating,
over the fire of (red) lotus, the rich flowers of punku tree,
showering like puffed-rice - a wedding (ceremony) happens.
Notes:
1. The nyAnis who systematically clear the filth are
referred here and the fact that they find Lord shiva
in the lotus of their heart. (The heart is described
as the lotus where the God resides, in many of our
literature. It is one of the very important chakra
in the form of lotus - anAhata. For a sample
malar micai EkinAn mANaDi cErn^thAr - kuRaL
Atma lingam mAyApurI hR^idaya pa~Nkaja sanniviShTam - shankara
2. aRupakai - lust, anger, meanness, desire, ego, jealousy.
3. The poet sees a wedding ceremony. For a change it is
not the one being performed by the humans, but by the
nature itself ! The water itself in the pond still and
enriched looks as if it is a carpet. On that there are
the conches of various kinds. In the middle there is a red
lotus. It is so brilliantly red and bloomed that it
looks like the fire in the vedic rite. Well, for the
wedding ceremony the puffed rice (pori) needs to be
offered on fire, and who would do that ? There is the
white flowers of punku tree that fall down on the
lotus. There is the wedding ceremony - mocked up by nature
- made visible to us by the great child, whose heart is
so pure and light that enjoys the God given nature.
4. akan - internal/mind; ceRRu - conquering; pukal
- refuge/shelter; puNDarikam - lotus; purANan -
ancient one; thakavu - fit; calacam - lotus.
