God does not stay idle seeing suffering of devotee

பிரானென்று தன்னைப் பன்னாள் பரவித் தொழுவார் இடர் கண்
டிரான் என நிற்கின்ற ஈசன் கண்டீர் இன வண்டு கிண்டிப்
பொரா நின்ற கொன்றைப் பொதும்பர்க் கிடந்து பொம்மென் துறைவாய்
அரா நின்றிரைக்குஞ் சடைச் செம்பொன் நீள்முடி அந்தணனே

Meaning:
The Master Who does not stay idle seeing the misery of
those who hail and worship Him as the Lord for long.
He is the Cool-hearted One on Whose golden long 
matted-hair,  beetles dig up and fight it out with the 
konRai grove making a humming noise in the port in
which the snakes make noise.

Notes:
1. The information that Lord shiva is highly benevolent
to the devotees is wide spread in epics like mahAbhArata
and purANas.
