Meaning:
Surrounded by the mango farms that make the sweet
fragrance and the grand streets of jeweled multi-storied
buildings, having the splendid walls around the city
cAn^thai (cAththanUr), worshipped by those who follow
the path set by the true vedas, the Beloved Lord of glorious
thiruvAvaDuthuRai, Who is Ancient to even the first
(oldest) divines, His grandeur is not understood by this
girl. She wants to embrace His golden wide strong
shoulders !
Notes:
1. The lady who brings up the young girl is lamenting
in wonder the state of the young girl who is in love
with God. This girl has lost herself in the love of God
so much, that she is not able to realize how grand
and supreme the God is and is it possible for her love
to make her join hands with the God to even get the
sight of Whom people spend ages in austerity ! She
is not worried about all these logistics, she simply loves !
It is in fact this simple and uncorrupted love that make
the God come as the easy One to get. While the various
pundits try to analyze the God from various points
and they are able to see the magnificent look of God
that cannot be explored in completeness by anybody.
The devotees simply love the God, unworried about
whether their simple love is good enough to get to that
Supreme. There stays the God confined in their
sincere minds.
2. thiruvAvaDuthuRai is the name of the abode and
cA^nthai - cAththanUr is the name of the town.
3. mAthi - mango; curuthi - shruti/vedas.
