திருச்சிற்றம்பலம்

எழுந்து நீர் பெய்யினும் எட்டுத் திசையும்
செழுந்தண் நியமங்கள் செய்மின் என்று அண்ணல்
கொழுந்தண் பவளக் குளிர் சடையோடே
அழுந்திய நால்வர்க்கு அருள் புரிந்தானே.

Translation of song:

"Even if the ocean (water) downpours 
from the eight directions, still perform the niyama (service)",
so blessed the Eldest with the rich-cool-coral chill entwined hair,
to the immersed four.

Notes:
1. Come whatever be - all the oceans pouring
down on the land - with stable fixed mind on Lord shiva,
devotees should continue their service to God.
