Why Do People Not Know the Taste of Lord Siva Worship?

Prayer of the Day

Prayer from Thiruvarutpayan (திருவருட்பயன்)

உயிர் விளக்கம்

தித்திக்கும் பால் தானும் கைக்கும்; திருந்திடும் நாப்
பித்தத்தின் தான் தவிர்ந்த பின்  62

Song as Romanized text

Uyir Vilakkam

thiththikkum pAl thAnum kaikkum; thiru~nthiDum ~nAp
piththaththin thAn thavir~ntha pin    62

Meaning of the Prayer Song:

 The sweet milk will also taste bitter;
When free from Piththam that tastes fine!

 Notes:

1. kaikkum - taste bitter; Piththam - bile.

2. When one is under the influence of Piththam,
even the sweet milk will taste bitter.
However, when the Piththam is cured,
the tongue tastes and enjoys the sweetness of the milk.
There was nothing wrong with the tongue.
It was the Piththam that was not letting it enjoy the sweetness of milk.

The same way Lord Shiva is so sweet and dear.
We did not rejoice His Grace, because of the influence of
the veil of darkness that we have been under.
Once that veil moves away - it is all Eternal Bliss with Lord Shiva!

If there are people, who cannot understand your ardent worship of Lord Shiva,
the reason is that they are still under the thick influence of the veil of darkness.
If possible, show them a little bit of taste of God. If they are not ready for it,
thank God for our progress away from the veil to taste the sweet Ambrosia - Lord Shiva!
