Meaning of the Prayer Mantra:
Oh Valorous! Take with Your great right hand the
nourishing, vivid, covetous things for us!
Notes:
1. tu - now; kShumantam - nourishing; citram - manifold;
grAbham - covetous; gRubha - take.
2. Vedas seek the four purushartas - dharma, artha, kama, moksha - through
various hymns. These four make the life of a human being complete.
In this hymn the Artha or prosperity is sought through the Indra aspect of
Supreme God Shiva.
3. There is no meanness in the seeking. The mantra seeks vivid, prosperous
and looked forward bounties.
