Oh the Dweller in mountains! Since You are the ocean of mercy,
You will forgive completely and uplift from the worldly life,
just when one pleads fearfully cognizant of own inability.
Still, always into thousands of gross things,
how can I, the dumb, leaving aside the shame, plead?
Notes:
1. kRutsna - complete; sabhaya - fearful; dainya - weakness;
pratikalam - constantly; mUka - dumb; nistrapa - shameless.
2. Our Lord shiva forgives completely, when we surrender to Him.
He is called "Asutosha" - easily pleased. We rely on this
Mercy of the Lord. Otherwise how long can we suffer for our karma.
The Gracious Lord releases us from all karma when we surrender,
realizing that we are incapable and only the Grace of God can save us.
c.f. dainyamAtrAt - எல்லாப் பிறப்பும் பிறந்து இளைத்தேன் - திருவாசகம்
3. nistrapaH prArthayEyam
Shame is a manifestation of ego. I am full of ego, trying to
gratify it in all possible ways. How can I do the surrender -
which means shunning away the very ego, I have been feeding?!
