Prayer from Rig Veda


ऋषि    :    काण्वॊ वत्स
दॆवता    :    इन्द्र
छन्दस्    :    गायत्री

आदित्प्रत्नस्य रॆतसॊ ज्यॊतिष्पश्यन्ति वासरम् |
परॊ यदिध्यतॆ दिवा || ८.६.३० ||

Chandas    :    gayatri

Aditpratnasya rEtasO jyOtiShpashyanti vAsaram |
parO yadidhyatE divA || 8.6.30 ||

(At it pratnasya rEtasaH jyOtiH pashyanti vAsaram |
parO yat idhyatE divA || )

Meaning of the Prayer Mantra:


 Then, they see the light of the primeval seed at horizon;
That lights the sky and above!

 

 Notes: 


1. At - Then; pratna - ancient; rEtas - seed;
vAsaram - at dawn; idh - lighting.

2. The sun that appears at dawn in the horizon that makes
us lead the life, is from the primeval seed 
- From the Supreme Lord!
