अ॒ग्निर्वृ॒त्राणि॑ जङ्घनद्द्रविण॒स्युर्वि॑प॒न्यया॑ ।
समि॑द्धः शु॒क्र आहु॑तः ॥ ६-१६-३४ ॥

Meaning of the Prayer Mantra:
Oh Agni, the Brilliant, the Resplendent and the hailed/invited,
wonderfully shining accepting the offerings,
drive away the darkness!
Notes:
1. vRutrANi - darkness/enemies; ja~gghanat - drive away;
vipanyayA - wonderfully; samiddhaH - brilliant;
shukra - resplendent; AhutaH - invited.
2. vRutrANi ja~gghanat
The Supreme in the aspect of Agni, drives away the darkness
pleased with the offerings we make.
That Supreme Shiva drives away the darkness inside us too
pleased with our worship.
