Meaning of the Prayer Mantra:
Oh lords of bliss and vitality! May the worships readily
delight You, Who hold the might!
Giving the seven gems in each of our houses,
make us, the two legged beings and four legged
beings happy!
Notes:
1. sOma - Lord of bliss; dhArayEthAM - hold;
asuryaM - divinity / strength; aram - readily; prAshnuvantu - feed;
damE - home; dadhAna - giving.
2. Vedas praise the various aspects of Supreme in different
forms. In this set of hymns (Rig 6.74), the Supreme Shiva is praised
in the forms of Soma (bliss) and Rudra (vitality).
3. The essence of the four vedas are the four purusharthas
- Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. Here the wealth and happiness
among the Purushartha are sought.
It is very important to see that the well being is sought not just for
the worshipper but for all lives - two legged or four legged!
