Meaning of the Prayer Song:
The Chief, Who created earlier the perpetual
sun, moon and fire, the world bound by the
ocean of moving tides, after that keeps
chanting "Adhiraiyan! Adhiraiyan!!"
Notes:
1. n-ANmIn - star of the day - sun; kanali - fire.
2. நாண்மீன்
Star of the day. Sun is also a star.
This star makes the day and hence it is called star of the day.
Note that the three mentioned here sun, moon and fire
are the three eyes of the Lord. They symbolize
the energy the Lord gives for the world to function.
3. பின்னரும்
Afterwards.
The creation of sun, moon and fire was mentioned in the
first part of the verse. So, the afterwards refer to the
world after the creation. The world depends on the Lord
the Supreme brahman to energize them so that they could
live successfully in the world and move forward in the journey
of Bliss.
4. ஆதிரையான் ஆதிரையான்
Adhirai is the great start associated with Supreme that is
beyond form and name, taking form and name coming as
Ananda nataraja murthy, taking all our minds that are oriented
into ecstasy!
Adhirai is one of the eight great festival of the Lord.
Hail the Lord Adhiraiyan!!
