Family (wife) and wealth are only up to the house;
The (good) words of others are only as long as (their tongue) palpitates;
Relatives are only up to the water in the pond.
Oh mind, if you are adept, praise the Ishvara at Valaikulam.
Notes:
1. il - family (here wife); kiLai - relatives; kiRRi - capable/adept
2. The dead one leaves the dear most wife and
life long earned wealth right at the house itself.
All the fame and good things about us, people speak
till they get tired and then they move on with their work.
All the relatives cry and take a dip in the water
completing the rituals.
(But I live every moment thinking as if the
whole world around us would collapse
without me! Having no time in the whirl of things
to realize me and worship the companion - Lord Shiva
- Who would ever be with me!)
3. Valaikulam - Vaippu thalam
