Meaning of the Prayer Song:

 You wander as if begging is the living and
move around the cremation ground along with the goblins.
Oh Kapali! I know You, however, that You are Omnipresent,
the One the wise yearn to attain!
Oh Lord, I will not let go even in the dreams Feet-lotus of You,
Who is the Master of all starting from Vaikuntavasi, his son and all
living beings!

 Notes:

1. pitRuvana - ground of ancestors (cremation ground); bhrama - wander;
lipsa - wanting to attain; druhiNam - son/brahma.

2. The Supreme Lord, Who is the Ishvara - Master of all,
appears so simple - begging for alms, wandering in the cemeteries.
The fools bewilder in this appearance and ignore the Supreme Shiva.
The wise sages and divines long to obtain that Lord and perform Tapas.
Having realized the value of Lord Shiva as the provider of liberation,
which is not providable by anyone else, can we the devotees let
the Lord escape away from us any time? Never. Not even in dreams,
asserts Appayya Dikshithar.
