vIrashaivam is the practice of worship of Lord shiva that has been brought to glory by the marvelous services of the spiritual social reformer basavaNNa and other sharaNas. vIrashaivam (also known as lingayat) is prominently practiced in Karnataka and influenced the other streams of shaivite philosophies too.
